Oxford Science Park team takes on OX5 RUN for Oxford Children’s Hospital

A team from The Oxford Science Park laced up its running shoes on Sunday to take part in the OX5 RUN at Blenheim Palace. The annual five-mile charity run supports the Oxford Children's Hospital and other Trust departments that care for young patients, including the Emergency Departments, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and the Horton and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

Under clear skies and amidst breathtaking scenery, the team tackled a challenging course, which featured some punishing hill climbs. Despite the tough terrain, all members of the team successfully crossed the finish line - many with smiles still intact.

The team’s efforts raised £2840, contributing vital funds to help improve hospital experiences for young patients and their families. The team expressed their enthusiasm for the event and their eagerness to participate again next year.

The Oxford Hospitals Charity plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care across local hospitals. By funding state-of-the-art medical equipment, research, training and improved facilities, the charity ensures that staff have the resources they need to provide exceptional care. Although not a large organisation, its impact is significant, with nearly every ward and department benefiting from generous donations and community fundraising efforts.

The Oxford Science Park team is proud to have supported this fantastic charity and looks forward to continuing their fundraising efforts in future events.
