The Whitehead Building was the first extension to the Magdalen Centre. It was constructed in 2002 and extends over part ground and three upper floors. The property is physically separate from The Sherrington Building but connected via a bridge link over Littlemore Brook.

The property was developed to expand upon the success of The Sherrington Building and offers extensive laboratory incubator accommodation on flexible terms. The building is named after mathematician Professor Henry Whitehead, a fellow of Magdalen College.
